In 1875 Bell moved to Boston where he worked as an instructor at the School of Vocal Physiology and Mechanics of Speech at Boston University. In fact, he didn’t even have a high school diploma! He first studied the human ear and later studied chemistry, physics, and other sciences by mail order because there were no colleges or universities that had those classes then.
